Out & About with Footman James

27 March, 2012

Prospects of sunny weather for classic car and motorcycle owners saw a steadily rising number of calls into Footman James as drivers and riders checked their classic car and motorcycle insurance before getting out and about.

During a short motorcycle ride from Hammersmith to Kensington in the sunny weather on Thursday morning, I saw a Triumph TR4, Mini 1996 Anniversary, MGB and Mercedes 500 SEC very close to each other in a queue resulting from the partial closure of Hammersmith flyover! Then saw an immaculate E type on Store Street off the Tottenham Court road.

While impressed the owners and their classics can handle the frustrations of the London traffic, many classic cars and bikes looked much more at ease in the new forest over the weekend. All the vehicles were very neat and tidy suggesting it was their first outing of the year.

Footman James continues to get out and about with classic car and motorcycle insurance customers and their clubs including the BSA Owners Club; a UK wide club dedicated to all BSA (British Small Arms) motorcycles.

At the recent AGM in Long Compton near Stratford, club members heard of an excellent 2011, with growing membership and activities giving a sound base for the future.

Footman James’ next show is the Footman James 33rd Bristol Classic car show at Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet – at least 70 car clubs and over 900 classics are confirmed so do come along to see the cars and visit us on the Footman James stand.
