Great Dorset Steam Fair 2017

Date: 24 August, 2017

Location: South Down, Tarrant Hinton, Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 8HX

There’s nothing better than indulging in nostalgic entertainment, and the Great Dorset Stream Fair is world class.

Whether you’re a collector, camper, music lover or steam fan, there’s something for everyone. Spread over 600 acres, the fair includes historic motors, craft marquees, a fairground, rural displays and steam exhibitions.

Every evening, it is spectacularly lit up, all powered by the Showman’s Steam Engines.

Get revved up

Be sure to get a spectating spot at the main ring for the historic motor car parade. Around 100 veteran, vintage and classic cars will be exhibited every day, ranging from models from the early days of motoring, right up to the early 1970s.

To satisfy your need for all things classic car, there’s also a huge auto jumble section, which is the largest of its kind in the UK. More than 200 stands will be selling automobilia, collectables and all sorts of vintage and classic motoring merchandise.

Thrills, spills and chills

As well as all the lights, the steam Showman’s Engines also power the huge collection of eclectic rides at the world-renowned fairground. There’s fun for all the family, with rides including dodgems, a big wheel, ghost train and fun house.

And don’t expect your heart rate to slow down when you head over to the Stunt Arena.

Watch the daredevil antics of the International Big Pete Monster Truck Display Team, The White Helmets Motorcycle Display Team and The Kangaroo Kid.
