FJ Hosts Beginners Workshop at NEC Restoration Show

Gary Stretton – editor, technical writer and all round restorer of classic vehicles – will be on hand to offer advice and top tips for classic enthusiasts at the Practical Classics Restoration & Classic Car Show.

He will lead a number of live ‘beginner’s workshop’ sessions, covering the following, and also available in leaflet format:

- 10 essentials before buying a classic car;
- 10 essentials when inspecting a car for sale;
- 10 essentials for recommissioning a dormant classic;
- 10 cost effective ways to care for your new classic.

These will run during both days of the show.

As part of its presence at the event – which takes place on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March – Footman James, in association with Practical Classics magazine, will also be part of the ‘Ask our experts’ feature at the show.

The Practical Classics’ team will bring together experts from across the classic car industry – specialist restorers, celebrity motoring presenters, magazine editors – to bring you a full-on line up of master classes, hints, tips and advice from key industry experts. The advice will help with everything from buying a classic car, to fault diagnosis and from essential maintenance to getting a treasured classic through its next MOT. Topics to be covered include how to buy/sell a classic car, paint work revival and how to deal with rust.

The panel of experts will include Wheeler Dealers’ Edd China, Mike Brewer as well as Car SOS’ Fuzz Townshend.

This year, Footman James will be attending more than 30 exhibitions and shows.

One of the leading classic vehicle insurance brokers and a well-known name on the specialist vehicle show circuit, Footman James invests in a wide range of events every year.

David Bond, Director of Footman James, underlined the company’s ongoing commitment to the show circuit and paints a positive picture for the classics industry in 2015.
