Footman James is shortlisted for “Industry Supporter of the Year Award” at the 2019 Historic Motoring Awards

Footman James is proud and delighted to have been shortlisted as ‘Industry Supporter of the Year’ at the prestigious International Historic Motoring Awards, which will be held at London’s Rosewood Hotel on 17th October.

Following many international submissions for this hotly contested category, the shortlist has been whittled down to just five finalists, one of which is Footman James. This shortlist will be deliberated over by the panel of 32 expert judges, from the world of motoring.

David Bond, the Managing Director of Footman James commented, “Footman James has aimed to be more than just a classic car insurance provider, and we have always maintained efforts to be a committed and enthusiastic participant in the classic car community. In what will be a busy year, Footman James will have attended over 38 car shows by the end of 2019. As we attend these events as a team, show visitors are able to talk to people throughout the company, from the marketing team, to the call-centre staff - everyone gets involved.”

Above and beyond the shows that Footman James attends, it is proud to sponsor 10 of these events across the year, covering everything from local grass-roots car clubs, to international concours and motorsports events. In 2019 Footman James started its own event for enthusiasts - Coffee and Chrome was launched in January, and doubled in size over two events, attracting hugely positive feedback from all attendees.

The company also supported ‘The Car Years’ on ITV, and the Harry’s Garage YouTube channel, both have been huge successes and are attracting great audience figures from around the world.

As well as these programs, Footman James is proud to share its expertise and regularly publishes articles and informative pieces of market commentary in several magazines. The in-house publication the FJ Times gives enthusiasts a quarterly publication that is dedicated to provoking industry wide discussion, at the same time as informing its readership in an unbiased manner of issues facing the industry as a whole.

David Bond added “As active supporters of classic vehicles being driven, we organise a sell-out ‘Drive It Day’ Tour in conjunction with the Classic Motor Hub, to encourage motorists back onto the road after winter. We are a group of enthusiastic drivers ourselves and so the team have toured the length and breadth of the UK in our restored Footman James VW T25 van as part of the sponsorship of the Practical Classics ‘Best of’ Tour. It has been great to discover the ultimate destinations for classic car enthusiasts, as well as getting to know Britain’s best classic car club.

Whether or not Footman James wins the award in October, to have been recognized as a leading industry supporter is a real honour for the whole team and one which only ignites a greater passion to continue the support of all aspects of classic motoring.”
