Concours of Elegance 2017

Date: 01 September, 2017

Location: Hampton Court Palace, Richmond upon Thames, KT8 9AU

The regal Hampton Court Palace is a perfect location for the sixth international Concours of Elegance. This classically British event is a truly magnificent spectacle, showing off the rarest historic cars from around the world. Many of them have never been seen before on these shores.

Last year visitors were treated to the likes of:

  • 1800s Ascot Landau by Hooper
  • 1929 Bentley Speed Six Saoutchik Drophead Coupé
  • 1952 Cunningham C3 Vignale Coupé
  • 1974 Lamborghini Countach LP400 ‘Periscopica’
  • 2016 Alfa Romeo Touring Disco Volante Spyder

Elegance and style

Some of the Concours cars will take part in a 2-day driving tour ahead of the event itself, but all of them will be in fierce competition for the highly sought-after ‘Best of Show’ award. These exceptional cars range from early pioneering models to the latest manufacturers have to offer.

One of the most unique things about the Concours of Elegance is the judging, which is done by the car owners instead of a selected judging panel. Each car owner votes for which car they think deserves ‘Best of Show’ – and they can’t vote for themselves!

Car Club displays

As well as the prestigious line-up of Concours cars, there will be hundreds of displays from car clubs around the country.

They’ll all be putting their best motor forward in a bid to win The Club Trophy. Not only does the winner get the honour of being crowned the UK’s most esteemed, but they’re also awarded a place in 2018’s main Concours of Elegance event.
