At Footman James we pride ourselves on offering our customers the very best in protection - and our brand new breakdown policy for classic car and bike owners does exactly that.
This exclusive breakdown policy has been specially developed in partnership with experts at Axa Assistance to service the 1.4 million vehicles aged 20 years and over currently on the road today.
We are concerned that a number of classic owners are driving around in their pride and joy relaxed in the idea they are covered for breakdown - when in fact they receive no cover at all.
This is because some ‘traditional’ breakdown service providers do not offer cover for vehicles more than two decades old.
Unfortunately, many tend to find this out the hard way, often when stranded at the side of the road.
Even if you breakdown and your vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside, you can choose to have your prized asset repatriated to a garage of your choice.
In addition to looking after our own customers, this fantastic cover will also be made available to non-Footman James customers for the first time ever.
“Although they generally cover less miles than today’s modern equivalent, classic cars, can be; let’s face it, more likely to breakdown simply due to the fact that they are older,” said our managing director Andy Fairchild.
“It is, therefore, essential that classics’ owners have adequate breakdown cover in place to ensure that they are not left stranded should the worst happen.
“The new breakdown cover should be a welcome relief for them and we are delighted to be able to extend this fantastic cover to non-Footman James customers for the very first time.”
The breakdown cover - which offers protection for up to four vehicles per owner - is already available to existing Footman James customers who have taken out one of our insurance policies on their classic.
It will be made available as a standalone product to non-Footman James customers from 22 May 2014.
Owners of classic cars and bikes will be able to purchase the breakdown cover online for just £65.
