The five unmissable automotive events in 2022

This year, many of us have experienced the spectacular return to form for classic car and bike shows. With Christmas approaching, there’s time to reflect on a great year – and the perfect opportunity to break out the calendar and plan for 2022. To save you some searching, we’ve gathered five fantastic events destined for your diary.

Donington Historic Festival – Saturday 30th April - Sunday 1st May

Taking place over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend, the Donington Historic Festival promises eight decades worth of classic action, including pre-war, Group C and touring car racing. Hosted at the legendary Donington circuit, attendees can look forward to experiencing some of the all-time greats being used as intended – with some breathtaking static displays for good measure.

Retro Rides Weekender – Saturday 21st - Sunday 22nd May

A relatively new addition to the event calendar, the Retro Rides Weekender is a celebration of all things pre ’98, hosted at the legendary Goodwood Motor Circuit. Modified motors are most welcome here – the event will even feature a static ‘stock vs custom’ area, as well as areas dedicated to classic touring cars and 80’s heroes.

Classic Nostalgia at Shelsley Walsh – Saturday 16th - Sunday 17th July

As one of the oldest surviving motorsport venues in the world, Shelsley Walsh has been home to countless events since opening in 1905. One event highlight is Classic Nostalgia – where hundreds of rally cars, F1 stars and classic racers compete to set the fastest time on the renowned hill climb sprint.

Goodwood Revival – Friday 16th - Sunday 18th September

Iconic race cars, period dress and a historic track – the Revival prides itself on recreating a truly authentic, immersive weekend. Attendees are transported back in time to the glory days of racing, with a healthy dose of romance and glamour. There’s so much to see, you’ll need more than one day to enjoy the full Goodwood experience.
