BMW Show 2016

Date: 18 June, 2016

Location: Santa Pod Raceway, Wellingborough, Northants, NN29 7XA

Next month sees one of the big weekends in the BMW calendar when makes of all shapes, sizes and eras come out to play.

The iconic Santa Pod Raceway in Podington, Northamptonshire, is the setting for the BMW Show (June 18-19).

A smorgasbord of all things Beemer is promised, with all models welcome.

Whether you want to bring or admire modern racers, classics, bikes, new Minis or show cars, this is the event for you.

Santa Pod is a fitting venue for the festival. That’s because BMWs contain all the ingredients to make them fab drift and drag cars, with their stable handling, rear-wheel drive and mighty engines.

Time to shine
Ever fancied taking your BMW for a fast spin on Santa Pod’s famous raceway? Well, now you can. The BMW Show offers you unlimited circuits on its track, and organisers will give you a performance print-out to show how you’ve got on.

You’ll be put into car classes and there are trophies up for grabs in each one. These include BMW Minis, Z Series and various 1 Series, and, of course, there’s an award for the fastest motor of the show. You can enter on the day.

If you fancy something a little less adventurous, then shine up your BMW and enter it in the Autoglym Show & Shine competition. This free contest is available to any BMW owner. There will be five main categories: judges’ choice, best bike, top new Mini, top five, and the best in show. Get scrubbing!

Don’t leave without…
• Checking out the club displays: The BMW Club, BMW 1 Series Forum and the Strictly E34 Zone are among the clubs already pencilled in to appear

• Daring to take a Drift passenger ride: May the G-force be with you as £10 will buy you a hair-raising, wheel-spinning ride

• Savouring the dragsters: These include the Fireforce Jet car, which spews out spectacular 20ft flames and roars like thunder

• Enjoying the non-automotive delights: The funfair rides and live stage music await you
