Date: 17 June, 2017
Location: Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Road, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0QN
One of the most loved events at Brooklands Museum, hosted each year to celebrate the anniversary of the opening of Brooklands Race Track, is returning; the Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival.
Three competitions take place over two days of incredible motorsport in one legendary location. Here’s what to expect at the Double Twelve Festival on 17-18 June 2017.
Classic competition
It wouldn’t be a celebration of classic motorsport without a few competitions taking place, and the Double Twelve sure delivers on that front.
On the Saturday, you’ll see the Double Twelve Speed Trials and the Double Twelve Concours. On Sunday, the Concours continues and the Double Twelve Driving Tests kick off.
The three competitions will feature a wide range of incredible cars, including, but not limited to:
You can find a full list of classes taking part on the Brooklands Museum website.
Each of these events will have their own winners, but for many drivers, there is one accolade to aim for; the Brooklands Double Twelve award. If a car competes in two of the three events, their scores will be combined, and this score will decide where they rank on the Double Twelve award table.
As well as all this competition, bikes, pre-war and post-war cars will be tackling the 352ft Test Hill Challenge. So, there’s a lot to look forward to!
Fun for fans and families
Alongside all of this motorsport action for fans, there’s a great Family Activity area for the little ones. Well, we say for the little ones, but you may struggle to resist helping while they build a 3D papercraft model of the Brooklands Paddock and Clubhouse.
If you can resist the papercraft, there are plenty of trade stands and car clubs to enjoy all around the event.
Tickets and further information
Tickets are £11 for adults, £10 for seniors and students, £30 for families (two adults and three children) and £6 for children aged 5-16.
If you’re heading to the event in a pre-1987, you can enter through the Campbell Gate to park up on site. Find out more, and get your tickets, on the Brooklands Museum Double Twelve Festival website.
