CarFest South

Date: 26 August, 2016

Location: Laverstoke Park Farm, Overton, Hampshire, RG25 3DR

Chris Evans’ brainchild continues to go from strength to strength, having already established itself as one of the liveliest car shows in the country.

The Top Gear presenter’s CarFest South (August 26-28) comes to Hampshire’s Laverstoke Park Farm this year with a “Time Tunnel” theme.

Time travel and dream rides

As the theme suggests, CarFest will take you back through the ages in a celebration of motors down the years.

The groovy 1970s and swinging 1960s will be well represented, as will decades going back to the vintage era of the 1930s.

All the automotive entertainment will be captured on the big screen should you miss it in the flesh, accompanied by a running commentary.

Stunts, wheel spins and burn-outs will all be performed for your trackside delectation, and there will also be a spectacular hill climb.

The show also wheels out a “motoring legend” for each day, but who will be the fab three this year?

As if this weren’t enough, there will also be car clubs aplenty, plus a chance to go behind the scenes and meet the groups, club members and enthusiasts behind Moto GB, rally cars and even Formula 1.

The main attraction for many, however, is the special Sporting Bears Dream Ride section. This gives classic car lovers the chance to take a spin in their favourite car. The Bears raise cash for Children In Need and handed over £111,300 to the charity last year. But will it be a Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo or Triumph that takes your fancy?

Don’t leave without…

• Listening to the live music: The line-up already includes Will Young, Jamie Lawson, Squeeze and James Morrison
• Checking out the Vintage Village: Continue going back through time with this fair, which is jam-packed with retro entertainers, re-enactors and dancers

Can you believe that tickets for this year’s event have already sold out? But there’s still a chance to attend a 2016 CarFest. Tickets are still up for grabs for the Friday (July 29) of CarFest North (July 29-31). They cost £64 for adults and £12 for children aged from 6-16.
