Date: 17 September, 2016
Location: Event City, Manchester, M41 7TB
The spectacular Footman James Classic Car Show Manchester returns this autumn.
Event City is staging the September 17-18 jamboree packed with automotive features for the classic connoisseur.
Organisers are confident they can continue the standard set in recent years.
Who can forget the star of the 2015 show – a Jaguar E-Type once owned by iconic Manchester United footballer George Best?
It emerged that the car’s new owner was at first totally oblivious to its sporting connections.
But then the Manchester Classic Show is full of fascinating stories such as these, and this year will be no different.
Classic cars and CodeClean Concours
The weekend is a veritable time machine of classic cars. Whether it’s the dashing 1950s or 1960s models that take your fancy or if you prefer something a little more modern right up to the 1990s, then there should be something here for you. You’ll also see cars which are among the oldest still surviving today.
Exhibitors will be out to succeed Ted Brooke as the winner of this year’s CodeClean Concours crown on the Saturday. Brooke’s pink Morris Minor Million set the standard for 2015. Drivers with cars built before 1996 can participate by completing an entry form.
Don’t leave without…
• Seeing the live rally action: The show’s classic rally platform gives a taste of just why rallying was so popular in its heyday. These Group B cars can be seen in action on a stage outside the venue’s halls six times over the weekend. The models will include rally racers that are deemed to be the quickest and fiercest ever to grace the sport
• Checking out the trade stands: There are bargains aplenty to be had for owners of vintage and classic vehicles
• Getting a practical demo: The show’s expert team is staging demonstrations over the two days. New traders will also be on hand with products to help you with your restoration
• Enjoying the indoor club displays: Feast your eyes on hundreds of displays from hundreds of clubs gathering from all over the area
