London Classic Car Show 2015

Date: 09 January, 2015

Location: ExCeL London, E16 1DR

As the new year rolls in, so does a brand new classic car show. At ExCeL London the Docklands will come alive to the sights and sounds of timeless motorised marvels.

Experienced event-goers should note that the London Classic Car Show will not be your standard static car display, but in fact something completely different.

You'll actually be able to see, smell and hear the event’s 100 leading cars in action!

The top models will cruise The Grand Avenue; the event's centrepiece - a specially designed catwalk for the most iconic cars to be driven and paraded down.

Some of our choice picks to head down the avenue include James Hunt's McLaren M23 which was famously driven to F1 glory in 1976; a top-notch 1957 Ferrari Testa Rossa in white and blue; and a classy Mercedes 300SL Gullwing from 1953.

Celebs and their classics
The show's co-curator, James May of Top Gear fame will be revealing what he believes to be the "Car That Changed The World". Some contenders will be displayed in the "Hall of Obviousness", although none of these will claim the honour. He will announce the winner as part of the opening festivities - it's sure to be something spectacular!

TV chef and classic car connossieur James Martin will be on hand to cook up some "good, simple grub" at his motoring themed food stop - the Classic Café. The central theme of the diner being his wonderful collection of classics, including five historically important Minis and a pair of Ferraris!

Expect to see many more celebs showing off their prized assets as they rub shoulders with other classic car aficionados.

Motor Sport Hall of Fame
If it's historic race cars you're into, then you simply must check out the Motor Sport Hall of Fame. Here you will find an iconic collection of cars from the entire history of motor sport - from 1924 to 2014! One of the vehicles on show will be the 1952 Ferrari 500 which won the F1 Championship for Ferrari for the first time!

Le Mans - The Icons is an evocative display of six sports racing cars from some of the biggest names in motor sport, including Porsche, Jaguar and McLaren - all winners of the famous 24 hour race in recent decades.

Finally, why not pay a visit to the Footman James stand over the weekend? We will be on hand to help you with all your classic car insurance needs, and you could even be in with a chance of winning a unique V8 coffee table by entering our competition. Be sure not to miss out!
