This year’s instalment of The National Motorcycle Museum “LIVE” Open Day will take place on 27th October.
Now in its fifth year, the event allows visitors to the museum to view the collection free of charge.
But this isn’t all – there are an array of other free attractions to allure guests, including a “Stars on Stage” feature in association with Norton Motorcycles Ltd, a LIVE “Start Up” area as well as a food court, bar and live band.
Get up close and personal with some of the world’s most iconic race machines.
In a specially created LIVE start-up zone both modern and classic bikes will be displayed, including the museum’s own collection as well as ex MotoGP bikes – thanks to Brackley Festival of Motorcycling and Phil Morris Racing.
Also, in this area builder Alan Millyard will be starting up four of his bikes including a Millyard RC374 six cylinder.
There will be an indoor autojumble held in the National Motorcycle Museum’s conference rooms, ensuring visitors can browse the stalls whilst staying warm and dry in the event of rain.
Trade stands and displays will be presented from many popular brands including: Norton, Triumph, H&H Classic Auctions and us! (Footman James).
The museum’s own shop will be open and trading throughout the event.
You will be able to find everything from classic motorcycling clothing, books and memorabilia.
Rider Steve Platter, best known for being a TT legend, TV presenter and Norton factory test rider will present two “Stars on Stage” features at the Museum, for free, at 11:00am and 2:00pm.
The talks will be held in the museum’s Britannia suite and will be themed around Norton Motorcycles – with various guests such as Norton rider John McGuinness, current Norton CEO, Stuart Garner as well as the chief designer at Norton, Simon Skinner.
However, this isn’t all! The newest Norton TT racer and latest road-going V4 will be fired up on stage throughout the event.
Catering will be supplied by the museum’s chefs in a covered food court and bar area, located next to the LIVE Start-Up zone.
The museum’s restaurant will also be open, if you prefer to sit inside and eat some hot food or snacks.
The museum’s summer raffle is a chance to win a stunning 1969 Royal Enfield Interceptor 750cc Series II! Worth over £12,000, the raffle will be drawn by John McGuinness on stage during the event.
