This February 24-26, Race Retro will be revving its way to Stoneleigh Park in Coventry, for 3 days of historic cars, motorsport legends and auctions like no other.
This year the show celebrates its 15th anniversary, so expect a real celebration of motorsport. Here’s a look at what to expect:
Clash of the Finnish titans
Ari Vatanen and Markku Alén, 2 legends of rally driving, will take centre stage in the show’s birthday celebrations. You’ll get to see both of the Finnish stars ‘driving mainly sideways’ on the bespoke Live Rally Stage on February 25.
The Live Rally Stage doesn’t just feature legendary racers – the cars aren’t bad either! From a 1960s Mini Cooper to an ‘80s Lotus Sunbeam, there’s a lot to see on the Live Rally Stage.
Tom Kristensen at the ‘Super Show’
Another motoring legend will be gracing the event floor over the weekend, as Tom Kristensen makes his way to Stoneleigh. The ‘greatest driver ever to have raced in the 24 hours of Le Mans’ will be chatting on the Interview Stage and meeting fans on Saturday February 25. Don’t miss your opportunity to meet a true motoring legend.
The cars of Race Retro
As you can probably imagine, Race Retro is going to feature a whole lot of classic racing cars. This year’s show features more than ever before, ranging from Formula One through to displays from car clubs across the country.
Look out for Jim Clark’s Lotus 33 R11 that’s making its first public appearance in over 40 years.
Record breaking auctions
The Silverstone Auctions return in 2017. This follows a highly successful 2016, where the auctions made a total of £4.7 million. This year, the auction is split in 2, with a competition car auction on Friday February 24, followed by 2 Classic Car, Motorcycle and Automobilia auctions on the Saturday and Sunday.
