Date: 16 June, 2017
Location: Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR13 6NW
From One Man and His Dog, to motorcross stunts, the Royal Three Counties Show really is a show like no other. This year, the celebration of the British countryside is taking place on 16-18 June at the Three Counties Showground in Worcestershire.
The event is packed full of a wide range of activities, displays and shows. Here are some of the highlights you can look forward to.
Mind-blowing motorcross madness
Hopefully that alliteration does enough to explain just how amazing this show is set to be.
The Bolddog Lings freestyle motorcross team will be heading to Worcestershire to put on a display full of stunts, jumps and thrills. If you think a show celebrating the countryside was going to be calm and quiet, think again!
The fast-paced carriage race
It’s not just bikes that will be racing around the Three Counties Showground; carriages will be too.
On the Friday and Saturday, keep an eye out for the Double Harness Scurry Driving. Expert drivers will be racing carriages around slaloms, and it promises to be a sight to behold.
If you want to see the carriages in action, but want something a little calmer, then Sunday’s the day for you, as 19th Century carriages are peacefully shown off in all their glory (without the slaloms, of course).
A whole lot of horses
Along with the bikes and carriages, there will be a lot of equine action taking place over the weekend. You’ll see show jumping like never before with two different challenges. The six bar challenge will pit talented riders with six jumps of increasing height. After the six bars are cleared, they are all increased, and the riders go again, until there’s a clear winner.
And if that wasn’t enough, there’s the two-fence challenge where riders have to face, you guessed it, two fences at a time.
And a whole lot more…
On top of all this action, try to look up occasionally. You may well spot a few hot air balloons flying into the distance, or the incredible Red Devils and Parachute Regiment Freefall Team putting on a jaw-dropping aerial show.
Tickets and further information
Daily tickets for the show cost £19 for adults, £5 for children (aged 5-15), £16 for members or senior citizens and £43 for families (2 adults and 3 children).
