Few classic car events on the planet ooze more class and luxury than the one coming to Blenheim Palace this autumn.
The Salon Prive (September 1-3) is broken down into four sections across three days in Woodstock, Oxfordshire.
Thursday sees the Concours d’Elegance judging day, Friday is ladies’ day and Saturday brings both the supercar show and prestige and performance competition.
Performance cars, historic motors and classic bikes will all be to the fore in the stateliest of venues.
Beautiful bikes and classic cars
The standard of car and bike is in keeping with the event’s surroundings. Take the motorcycles, for example. The sleek, tastefully restored Vincent Black Knight has clocked up only 1,000 miles since being built in 1954.
One of the oldest vehicles on display will be the venerable Matchless-Vickers 8B2/M Russian Military Motorcycle Combination - at 99 years young.
Dorset Tank Museum is bringing along this 1917 gem, which doubled up as a First World War machine gun and is the only model of its kind that survives to this day.
An amazing Alfa Romeo dating back to 1924 heads an all-star field among the four-wheeled machines.
The RL Normale Coupe de Ville, the work of esteemed European coachbuilder J Farre, is constructed from Caoba wood and will be exhibited to show-goers for the first time.
A 1956 Ferrari 500 TR Testa Rossa and 1923 Voisin Type C6 Laboratoire will also be jostling for the limelight.
