Date: 07 August, 2016
Location: Shugborough Estate, Stafford ST17 0XB
This stunning Staffordshire stately home on the outskirts of Cannock Chase is the magnificent setting for one of late summer’s most long-awaited events in the classic calendar.
The fifth edition of the Shugborough Hall Classic Car and Transport Show (August 7) promises to be a grand family day out.
As well as hundreds of head-turning classics from across the spectrum, there will also be a welter of auto-jumble trade stands to tempt you.
Convivial concours and hundreds of handsome classics
Few automotive sights make people feel more English than the concours held right in front of this regal house. The judges will be lending a watchful eye over proceedings before making their minds up and presenting the prizes at 4pm.
More than 1,200 classic vehicles joined in last year, from classic cars, motorbikes and US machines to custom and kit models and sports cars. Some of the models on show normally date back nine decades.
Don’t leave without…
• Checking out the retro sounds: New for this year, a DJ knee-deep in nostalgia will guide you through the sounds of yesterday. The show’s vintage singers will also transport you back through the years
• Enjoying the tea rooms, servants’ quarters and museum: The servants’ quarters are no different to what they were in Victorian times, giving visitors an insight in to conditions back then
• Having a nosey at the hall and grounds: The Grade One listed parklands date back to the 1800s and will be in full bloom by August
• Exploring the estate’s rare breeds: Middle White Pigs, Boreray and Soay sheep are among the rare farm animals to keep an eye out for

Advanced adult tickets cost £7 with children aged between 5 and 15 able to get in for £3. Children four and under go free, while family tickets are £17. The show runs from 10am to 5pm with last entry allowed at 3.30pm.
