Footman James Secures Partnerships With 83 New Specialist Vehicle Clubs

Specialist insurance broker Footman James reports a successful first half of the year as it secures partnerships with a further 83 classic car and motorcycle clubs, reaffirming its ongoing support for the classic vehicle movement.

Securing the new club partnerships means that Footman James now offers specialist club member insurance schemes to more than 300 classic car and motorcycle clubs across the UK  and will endeavour to further increase this number in the second half of 2012.

The new club partners include:  Association of British VW Clubs; Porsche 924 Owners Club; Landcrab Club (Austin 1800/2200); Jaguar XK8/XKR Enthusiasts Club; Range Rover Register; The British Two Stroke Club; Rudge Enthusiasts Club; XR Owners Club; Crash Box and Classic Car Club.

Many of the specialist broker’s club partners earn an amount of commission for each classic car, modern car, motorcycle or home insurance policy bought from Footman James by their members.

Most club partners then use this money to support national events and rallies, while some have used their commission payments to build or extend their club headquarters.

In addition to this valuable financial support, Footman James employs two life-long classic vehicle enthusiasts to look after the clubs , offer advice and guidance to the clubs and the tens of thousands of members that put their trust in Footman James.

Andy Fairchild, Footman James’ managing director, said: “Clubs are the lifeblood of the classic industry and supporting them and their members in tough economic climates such as these is essential and goes someway to securing the future of the movement, which will benefit us all.

He added: “While a large number of our clubs benefit from commission schemes, sometimes, there are other, more relevant, ways of supporting clubs, such as sponsoring events, taking out advertising and even offering member rates to new customers who agree to join the club  represents their vehicle.  While the methods vary, our commitment is the same and our two business development executives, who are out on the road, are constantly reviewing and discussing how we can best meet the needs of the clubs and their members.
