Classic Car Shows in the UK

24 October, 2014

Have you ever been to a car show? The atmosphere is more often than not amazing, and for us car enthusiasts, there’s nothing quite like seeing our favourite classics parked up for display. It’s a great place for the classic car community to meet and get to know one another. Many of us enjoy taking our pride and joys out for a quick spin, whilst some simply enjoy turning up and admiring the beauties on display. Who can blame them, right?

If you didn’t know, there are various classic car events on in the United Kingdom. Some are held annually, and are known by people throughout the UK, and even globally. Some pop up as a one off, or every now and then, and some are planned months, even years in advance.

So far in 2014
There have been many classic car shows and events this year, and there are numerous to come, including our very own autumn restoration show. This will be held November 1st and 2nd at the Royal Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet, where the show will be spread out over four indoor arenas, offering a packed weekend of live displays and expert advice.

People gather from areas across the globe to meet, and drive/look at classic cars. It’s a great opportunity to meet people with a similar interest to yourself and who knows, you might even find a gem of a vehicle for sale somewhere. You could sell one yourself if you’re looking to part with your classic. If you’re looking to sell a classic car, where’s better to look than an event full of enthusiasts? If you’ve only got into classic cars recently, and looking to participate in more community events, it’s more than likely you’ll be able to sign up for clubs and newsletters. This way you’ll be able to keep informed with upcoming classic car events.

Later this year
So, what is yet to come this year in the classic car community? There are various meets, shows and car runs, such as the Ace Cafe Classic Car Night. This event will be held in Ace Cafe in London, on North Circular Road. This is a monthly event, hosted on the last Saturday of the month. To see what classic car events are coming up, we’d suggest looking at the Classic Shows UK website.

If you take your classic to car shows, we’d suggest taking a look at the different types of insurance available. There is specialist insurance available, ideal for those who don’t necessarily drive their cars, but like showing them off at shows! For example take a look at our tailored insurance options, including track day cover.
