Footman James staff raise hundreds of pounds for cancer charity Marie Curie

18 November, 2016

Staff from specialist insurance broker Footman James have helped raised hundreds of pounds for a cancer charity.

Dedicated colleagues raised £1,430 for Marie Curie Cancer Care on behalf of the Morris Minor Owners Club (MMOC) through a series of fundraising events – and have cycled more than 1,000 miles in the process.

Volunteers pedalled on a training bike to reach a total of 1025.91 miles between them.

Other events included a ‘Dress Down Monday’, a raffle, a famous movie cars quiz and a ‘guess the number of sweets in a jar’ game as well as a fruit and veg-themed cake sale.

Staff even got the chance to ‘pie face’ senior managers – all in the name of charity!

Morris Minor Owners' ClubAs well as the multiple events that took place, during June, July and August this year, Footman James donated £1 to Marie Curie for every new and renewed policy for MMOC members.

Footman James also insured the MMOC 1962 Morris Minor as it travelled across the UK from John O’Groats to Lands’ End to help raise money for the charity.

While on its journey, the vehicle stopped off at the Footman James headquarters where MMOC members were handed a cheque for the funds raised by staff at an exciting event attended by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Mohammed Hanif and his wife, Mayoress of Dudley, Zabeda Khanam.
