What's our client's opinions on events this year?

Recently, we asked classic vehicle enthusiasts to complete a survey where we picked their brains on the effects of the pandemic over the past year. The survey covered a number of different topics, one of them being how enthusiasts feel about the return of classic events and shows this summer.

At FJ, we’re looking forward to getting back out their meeting with the classic community at events like our outdoor Coffee & Chrome meet (following all COVID regulations of course). But what do enthusiasts think?

Of the 550 people who took part in the survey, 48% of people said they would be very keen to get back out at events this summer vs 13% who said they wouldn’t be attending. We also had a big proportion of people at 39%, say that they were unsure if they would be happy to attend.

Among the top reasons for people feeling unsure or deciding to forgo events this year; 21% of people said that it was due to being worried about other attendees’ behaviour, 15% said they’d give it a miss due to being over 70 years old and 15% said they did not want to attend any indoor events due to coronavirus. Some of the other worries people had were around cancellations and medical conditions.

However, 48% of people said they would be happy to attend events and we asked those people, which type of events were they most eager to return to. At a whopping 58%, club events and rallies were by far the most popular, with people deciding to stay local and go to smaller organised meetups instead of the big national events.

What is your opinion? Do you agree with this result? We’d love to know how you’re feeling about the return of ‘normal life’ and events this summer, you can let us know in the comments or email us your thoughts to news.views@footmanjames.co.uk
