Prescott Speed Hill Climb brings back their popular American Autumn Classic event to Cheltenham.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Classic Car Competitions

The fun-fuelled weekend will see classic cars competing on the historic hill climb with special race classes dedicated to American cars and hot rods.

American Car Displays

As the event honours American cars, there will be a selection of American cars on display; from classic American cars to modern.

Over in the paddock will be a beautiful display of classic American cars, hot rods and muscle cars- from Cadillacs to Mustangs, there’s plenty to feast your eyes upon. These displays will take on a classic car lunchtime cavalcade.

Footman James Classic American Car of the Year

Prescott will be hosting Heat 7 of 2018’s Footman James Classic American Car of the Year, which is the final heat before the final at the NEC Classic Motor Show in November.

Heat 6’s winner was a 1969 classic American muscle car… the COPO Camaro, but we will be excited to see who wins this round.

The judges will be looking at classic American cars; original and restored, before crowning the final winner over the weekend; guaranteeing their spot in the competition final on the Classic American Stand.

All American vehicles on site will be automatically entered into the judging process, so, if you are bringing your classic American car along, make sure it’s ‘spick and span’.

The winner will be announced on Sunday 7th October 2018 at 3:00pm, with the presentation taking place at 3:30 near the start line gantry.

Vehicles to watch out for

On the day you may come across some exciting vehicles attending the event. This includes the Penske PC22 Indy car, arguably one of the nicest looking Penske of its era and once raced by Stefan Johansson in the 1993 Indianapolis 500.

Making is debut at Prescott will also be the amazing Dodge Challenger SRT Demon which was designed for one thing and one thing only, dominating the quarter mile.

It is the world’s fastest quarter mile and 0-10 production car, claiming the highest horsepower and highest G-force, which is faster than the stunning Bugatti Chiron that we all know and love.

Classic Bike Clubs

If you are considering joining a classic bike club, there are two popular examples attending the event; the Indian Motorcycle Club and The Chopper Club of Great Britain.

Entertainment

Not only will there be the thrill of classic American cars racing round the track, there will be plenty of entertainment that will keep you interested over the weekend; including the Demon Drome Wall of Death. Get lost in nostalgia as you hear the roar of 1920’s Indian Motorcycles ride along at 30mph up a 20ft parallel wall… this is not for the faint hearted.

Away from the petrol heads and the rumbling sounds of classic cars and bikes, you can sit back and relax as your ears tune in to the live bands and watch the performance from the Vegas Showgirls.
