Silverstone Classic 2018

Date: July 20-22 2018

Location: Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire, NN12 8TN,

Hailed as one of the world’s biggest classic motoring events in the calendar, Silverstone Classic returns to Northamptonshire on 20th July and promises a fun weekend for the whole family. With an abundance of racing action from the Formula One, GT, Sports Cars and Touring Car grids as well as 20 planned demonstrations, you won’t want to miss a day of the event!

What To Expect

From motor racing to live music, car clubs to air displays there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Motorsport

The opening day (Friday) is used for qualifying, so you will have the chance to see all the grids on track. Saturday and Sunday are largely scheduled races – Saturday’s outline boasts the Stirling Moss Trophy for Pre ’61 Sports Cars and the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy for Historic Cars (Pre '63 GT) races, whilst Sunday has the John Surtees Trophy for Historic Formula Junior (Front Engine) and the Transatlantic Trophy for Pre '66 Touring Cars races to enjoy.

Anniversaries

The Silverstone Classic has established a reputation for providing exemplary celebrations over the past few years, such as the Mustang 50th, Aston Martin 100th and even Silverstone’s own 25th anniversary in 2015.

This year there will be numerous concurrent celebrations for the 70th Anniversary of the First Grand Prix at Silverstone, 60th Anniversary of the British Tour Car Championship, 60th Anniversary of Formula Junior and the 80th Anniversary of the Ace Café. Not only this, but there are also many significant anniversary parades being held over the weekend.

Clubs

Clubs at Silverstone are a significant part of the event’s experience and create incredible displays across the infield for all visitors to browse and enjoy. Over 100 car clubs are expected to attend, with the exclusive car club display packages already sold out for Saturday! There are still packages available for Friday and Sunday.

Several clubs we work with will be in attendance, including:

  • Alvis Owners Club
  • Jaguar Enthusiasts Club
  • MX-5 Owners Club
  • Triumph Sports Six Club

RetroRun

If you’ve never taken part in Silverstone’s Classic RetroRun, it’s well worth considering participating in your (pre-1998) classic car. It’s a road run which begins on the Saturday morning from Stowe House (located five minutes away from the Silverstone Circuit), entrants will be treated to a brilliant classic driving experience through the Cotswolds and even a detour to our partners, The Classic Motor Hub, as well as other places of interest along the way.

Weather permitting, on Sunday the RetroRunners are invited to drive their cars in a parade lap around the Grand Prix track.
