Classic Car Parade set to Smash Two World Records in Coventry

WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT POSTPONED

The planned attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Parade of Classic Cars has been put on hold, to allow classic car owners more time to register.

In just a few weeks since we announced the attempt, we have already attracted over 1000 signups (well over half the amount needed to break the record) and they are still coming in, showing that there is a real appetite to bring this record to the UK.

We have been delighted with the fantastic response received from classic car owners who are keen to get involved with the attempt, which was originally planned to take place on Sunday 14th June. However, in order to give owners more time to register, we have decided to postpone the attempt until a later date. We will keep registration open until we have sufficient signups to confidently set a date for the World Record.

We encourage classic car owners to continue to register interest in being part of this parade and we will continue to keep those registered informed of developments over the coming weeks. Once we have a sufficient number of people registered to take part we will set a new date for the attempt and announce further details.

The Largest Parade of Classic Cars

To qualify for the parade, each car taking part must be at least 30 years old and be presented with its original registration documents on the day of the event.

How To Get Involved

Together with Coventry Transport Museum, with the support of Jaguar Heritage we aim to bring together over 2000 classic cars, including 1000 classic Jaguars, in an attempt to smash both World Records in the same parade. The current record for the Largest Parade of Classic Cars was set in Mexico City in 2014, and stands at 1,674 vehicles, whilst the Largest Parade of Jaguar Cars is currently held by organisers of the Silverstone Classic, who organised a parade of 767 E-types in 2011.

If you’re a classic car owner and you would like to take part in the World Record attempts, please register interest by completing the online Expression of Interest form. Further details and confirmation of entry will be sent out after this date.
