We always like to do our bit for charity here at Footman James.
So when 10 of our employees recently donned their running gear in aid of Cancer Research UK, we were out in force to support them!
The team, which was led by Senior Account Handler Jo Evans, took part in a popular West Midlands Race for Life.
They raised a staggering £797.00 for the truly worthy cause - which funds research to beat all 200 types of cancer - and got a sweat on in the process, as they raced around the stunning setting of Himley Hall in Dudley.
So hats off to:
- Senior Account Handler Jacky Farrell
- Operations Manager Kirsty Elwell-Tilley
- Administrator Katie Ford
- New Business Account Handler Clair Winfield
- Account Handlers Gita Patel, Natalie Turner and Natasha Twist
- Classic car Insurance Specialists Ann Brookes and Amy Roberts,
All of whom now deserve a big rest!
Jo was delighted with how the race went on the big day - especially when she found out how much money was raised.
She said everyone had great fun and revelled in the sense of achievement after the crossing the finish line.
Race for Life is a series of 5km or 10km women-only fundraising events.
Participants run, jog or walk the courses and get sponsored for doing so, with all the proceeds going towards the battle against cancer.
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer - whether it’s a family member, a friend, or a friend of a friend - and this was one of the reasons why we decided to put a team together and raise funds to help combat it.
Our charity works sees us support a number of local and national initiatives - we recently made a donation to The Teenage Cancer Trust - and we intend to continue making a difference to people’s lives.
