VMCC Vintage Training Day

29 February, 2012

Can there be a better recruitment, induction and training in vintage motorcycling than a VMCC Vintage Training Day?

A big thank you to the VMCC and their members who arranged and supported the event, gave us the training and, of course, to the members who lent us their motorcycles.

  • 1936 Douglas Aero
  • 1930 Ariel B
  • 1926 OK – Bradshaw 348 cc
  • 1933 New Imperial 30 250cc
  • 1913 AJS V Twin
  • 1915 Ivy V Twin JAP
  • 1927 Sunbeam Longstroke
  • 1930 Rudge 350 cc
  • 1936 Royal Enfield (sidecar)

All the owners were very supportive and encouraging including one who had been riding his since 1958.
Another motorcycle was the messenger’s bike in the recent film “Warhorse”.

Nearly 50 came along with a reasonable spread of ages from mid 30 s upwards and all appreciated the range of bikes and the catering provided.

We all went away talking about “when ,not if” we get a vintage bike except for the few who have just got one!

On a different note, when did you last see 2 pipe smokers in the same place? – looked like pretty recent converts as well!

See our classic car and motorcycle events page if you’d like to come along to one of our upcoming events.
