Key Insurance

This product meets the demands and needs of those who require cover for the replacement of keys (and locks where there is a security risk) for their vehicle should they be lost, stolen or broken during the period of cover.

What would you do if the keys to your pride and joy are lost, stolen or damaged? Key Insurance will provide cover for:

Locksmiths’ charges, new locks and replacement keys up to £750 in any one period of insurance in case the worst should happen.

Insured keys that are unusable due to being damaged or broken in the lock or ignition, up to £100.

Cost for vehicle hire or reasonable travel expenses if your vehicle is unusable as a result of the insured keys being lost, stolen or damaged by accidental means, up to £75 per day for a maximum of 3 days.

Significant Exclusions and Limitations

  • There is no cover in force for the first 48 hours of this policy.

  • There is no cover in place for the first 3 days after keys have been lost or stolen, unless the delay would cause undue hardship or significant expense.

  • Cover only applies in the UK, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

  • You must report any lost, stolen or damaged keys within 30 days.

  • There is no cover if the locks were damaged prior to the loss or theft of your keys.
