Footman James has announced the winner of one of its most prestigious competitions.
We unveiled the winner as enthusiast Pete Shaw at the Classic Motor Show in November.
Pete, a 50 year old garage proprietor from Derby always dreamed of owning a Lotus MK1 Cortina; his first car, an MK1 Cortina, was followed by many more vintage Fords over the years. Five years ago, his dream came true and he purchased a 1966 MK1 Airflow Lotus Cortina.
Pete said: “I am absolutely over the moon to be the lucky winner of such a fabulous prize! It was a fantastic surprise to receive the call. The money will allow me to do some necessary repairs and improvements to my Cortina, including new interior trim. I have insured my car via Footman James for the last 3 years as I consider them to be the very best insurance brokers for classic cars. Once again, I would like to thank Footman James and look forward to insuring my car via them again when it is due.”
The competition was originally launched in April of last year at The Bristol Classic Car Show to celebrate the start of the 2013 season.
Andy Fairchild, Footman James’ Managing Director said: “We are delighted to announce Pete Shaw as the winner of our 2013 competition. It is always enthusiastically received as it offers one lucky person the chance to really live their dream, whether that’s purchasing a lifelong vintage love or breathing new life into their classic pride and joy. We are sure that Pete will enjoy every moment of his planned Cortina improvements. Congratulations!”
Footman James is also pleased to announce the winner of its Davida Helmet and Leathers competition; Keith Norman from Bromsgrove received £750 to spend on the luxury brand.
