One of our favourite events in the year is returning this summer, the Chateau Impney Hill Climb. With high-speed action, you will see over 200 competitors race it out to write their names in the history book.
Known as one of the most challenging hill climbs in Britain, you will not want to miss hundreds of classic cars roaring into life over a fascinating 2 days of motorsport.
As partners of Chateau Impney Hill Climb, our Footman James team are pleased to be returning to the show for 2019 with our much-loved Concours d’Elegance.
Unlike standard concourses, the Footman James Concours d’Elegance puts the power in your hands, as you have the say on who wins.
Last year, we celebrated with our ‘Best of British’ theme, which saw British marques being represented by their classic and modern models. The public voted and victory was claimed by Aston Martin with two stunning representations of the marque in the form of a classic DB 2/4 MK1 and a modern DBS.
This year, it is your turn to vote on what vehicle you think represents its time period the best. There will be four time periods represented at the hill climb, which include cars from the following eras:
More information on the cars will be announced soon. Why not sign-up to our newsletter to be first in the know!
The Michelin Supercar Expo will feature some of the top supercars on both a static and moving display across the weekend. Chateau Impney Hill Climb can already confirm that Bugatti will be returning with the Veyron Super Sport and the Bugatti Chiron.
The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has been noted by Guinness World Records as the fastest street-legal production car in the world, being able to reach speeds of 267.85mph. Values at around £1.2 million it is surely one you won’t want to miss.
Based on a concept car, the Bugatti Chiron is a superb example of fine engineering. With speeds of up to 250mph the Bugatti Chiron can reach this speed in an astonishing 32.6 seconds and can go from 0-60mph in an impressive 2.4 seconds.
Not all vehicles at the show will be competing in the hill climb at a competitive level, some are there as crowd pleasers. In the past, Chateau Impney Hill Climb has seen the sights of the Bugatti Chiron and the rare V16 BRM parade along the track.
2019 demonstration runs will be announced soon. Keep an eye out for any updates over on the Chateau Impney Hill Climb website.
There will be a range of exhibits at the show which will be announced soon. In 2018, we saw exhibits from the Vintage Sports Car Club, Morgan Motor Company and the Land Rover Experience, just to name a few.
Mooch around the trade stands that will be all set up at the show. From memorabilia stands, to food stands and food stands to clothing brands, there will be enough merchandise to get your hands on. Last year the hill climb saw paintings on sale from Bob Spendlove Arts, jewellery boutique stand -Cotton and Gems -, WT Author watch stall, plus much more.
After a successful show at 2018’s Chateau Impney Hill Climb, the Ralli 22 cars are back to host their second round of the competition. Come along and see a large selection of the best and rarest Group A, B and WRC cars race against the clock all with the ambition to make it through to the third round.
We all love the sound of tyres squeaking round the track, but many of us also like to hear the thundering clatter of aviation.
For 2019, Chateau Impney Hill Climb welcome back the RAF who will be bringing along some stunning examples of aviation vehicles (weather permitting).
In 2018, visitors at the hill climb were treated to a fly over from the US aircraft - C-47 Dakota - and the British built single seater, the Hawker Hurricane. Both machines now form part of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flights, which were launched after World War Two.
Who doesn’t love a fun fair? The Chateau Impney Hill Climb welcomes the whole family for a perfect day out.
Over the last few years, Chateau Impney Hill Climb has hosted the popular traditional Vintage Funfair.
Keep the kids entertained without touching a penny, as rides are FREE! Brave the twirling Helter Skelter or reach for the sky with the UK’s oldest travelling Ferris Wheel. Let the children release their inner Stirling Moss as they race around on the dodgems… or if you fancy a go, hope in one of the carts too, as all rides are suitable for all ages!
Aside from the free vintage fun fair, there are plenty of other activities available for all the family including:
