Celebrating its 26th year, the Tour Auto Optic 2000 returns on 24-30 April 2017, mixing its usual traditions with a brand new route.
This year, the tour will see hundreds of cars start in Paris, before racing through to Biarritz, via Saint-Malo, Nantes, Limoges and Toulouse.
With 11 special events on closed roads, and competitions on 4 circuits, all with a touch of French glamour, the Tour Auto Optic 2000 is well worth the journey across the Channel.
The cars
Hundreds of cars are already on the entry list for the event. The cars taking part are all from between 1951 and 1973, and range from Abarths to Panhards (with a lot of Porches in between).
Each year the event celebrates a certain make, model or manufacturer of car, and 2017 is no exception. This year the event is celebrating the finest French makes that are no longer produced. These special cars include:
The circuits
There are special stages and challenges taking place throughout the event, but the circuits are where some of the finest racing action will take place. This year’s circuits are:
A display to behold
This year’s event has a brand new route, including Brittany for the first time. But the show has kept one tradition untouched for 2017; the opening day display.
All of the cars taking part will fill the beautiful Grand Palais in Paris on Monday 24 April for a jaw dropping pre-tour display. The display will take place from 10am through to 5pm.
Tickets and further information
Tickets for the display at the Grand Palais, and to enter The Village (an event area for spectators that’s rebuilt and dismantled at every location), will be available soon, along with the Tour Auto VIP Package.
