Aston Martin badge makers launch NHS Thank You Badge

The makers of the iconic Aston Martin badge, Vaughtons, has launched an NHS Rainbow badge to raise money for NHS Charities Together.

Every badge is hand-crafted in the UK using traditional methods with each badge being stamped and polished using tooling which has been in operation since 1819. Bright rainbow-coloured enamel is then also applied by hand.

Nick Hobbis, Vaughtons’ Managing Director, said: “The country has pulled together throughout this difficult time with unanimous, grateful support for the NHS and the carers who have put their lives on the line and worked tirelessly, and continue to do so, for those who have been affected by the Coronavirus.

“The rainbow has become a visible symbol of hope and gratitude. Creating this badge by using our skills is Vaughtons’ unique way of giving back. We very much hope that this Rainbow Thank You badge will become the 21st century ‘poppy’, enabling us to raise valuable funds for charities supporting NHS workers and volunteers.”

Ellie Orton, Chief Executive of NHS Charities Together said: “Thank you Vaughtons for donating the profits from this pin badge to NHS Charities Together. These funds will help us continue to support NHS workers, volunteers and patients impacted by COVID-19. What a lovely way to say ‘thank you’ to those who deserve it most.”

Vaughtons is based in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham and was established in 1819 by Howard Vaughton. The company has a reputation for making iconic high-quality metalware including automotive badges for Aston Martin and McLaren, plus medals for the Olympics, the PGA, the English Premier League as well as the Six Nations Rugby.

The pin badges will initially be available with either gold or silver plating, with a sterling silver and a 9ct gold options to follow.

Badges can be ordered directly from vaughtons.com for £9.99 including packaging and postage, with the profits being donated to NHS Charities Together.
