Once again, we have partnered up with Classic American and are delighted to announce that we are sponsoring the Footman James Classic Car of the Year Award at the Classic Motor Show this November.
The Footman James Classic American Car of the Year is the UK’s only concours competition of its kind, specifically aimed at American vehicles. Leading up to November’s Classic Motor Show, Classic American attends several American car events over the UK and crown one vehicle as the show’s heat winner. Each of the heat winners are then invited to display their classic car on the Classic American stand at November’s show.
Over the weekend the classics are then judged by the public and one ultimate champion is chosen. Not only this, the winner will be presented with a cheque for £500 and a prestigious hand-cast trophy.Their car will also appear on the front cover of February’s Classic American magazine.
Last year’s award went to a stunning 1967 Ford Mustang, owned by Laura and Ross Meek. Meek was elated when he was announced as the winner at last year’s show.
The heats have already kicked off for 2018, with the first heat winner being crowned at this year’s Wheels Day. Victory went to Diego Presenza’s 1963 Ford Falcon Futura (pictured at the top of the page) that stunned the judges once again; the Ford won last year’s heat at Wheels Day too. Unfortunately, Presenza couldn’t make the Classic Motor Show last year, so he’s crossing his fingers that this year will see his Ford shine.
Good luck to all who are taking part!
