Coffee & 4x4s: off-roaders at Impney
What shape is your automotive passion? For members of Coffee & Chrome Collective there’s no prerequisite – as our branded “Coffee &” cups indicate (see images below), you can sip your caffeinated beverage while leaning against anything from a motorcycle to a monster truck.

This week, we celebrate owners of 4x4s from our recent meet at the Impney Estate. Ok, so maybe not every one of the cars pictured below puts its power down through all four wheels, but each can certainly handle dirt beyond the manicured lawns of the chateau that served as a backdrop to our event.

Most popular? The venerable Series Land Rover. Actually, we can’t think of a classic that ticks more boxes than these – you may trade a little comfort, but you get a versatile vehicle that can be a family convertible for the summer while having the space to take on some domestic chores (a good excuse for extra classic miles at the weekend). Plus, they’re great for the DIY mechanic.

The stablemate Range Rover is also in the mix. Values of these have really climbed in recent years, not least because of official restorations by Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works, but it’s good to see cars in honest, well-kept condition as well as the top-of-the-market show examples.

Maybe your favourite 4x4 flavour features Stars and Stripes? More than one Dodge Ram rolled past our photographers lens, plus you’ll also see a Jeep Wrangler making the most of the sunshine.

Which brings us to the point in our article where we’d usually ask which category of vehicle you’d like to bring to our next event, but sadly as of today we are oversubscribed.
