Goodwood Revival is just around the corner, and they have now announced that long-term friend of Goodwood motorsport, Jenson Button, will make his historic racing debut at the event taking place in 3 weeks’ time.
Button will be taking part in the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy on Friday evening of the Revival Weekend. Formerly the Kinrara Trophy and first held in 2016, the sunset race will see Ferrari 250 SWBs take on the likes of Aston Martin DB4GTs, AC Cobras and a host of early-60s GT racers. Button will be sharing the driving seat of a Jaguar E-type, prepared and run by RJN Motorsport, with Alex Buncombe.
Then on Sunday afternoon in the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration, the dynamic duo will be back in action. The one-hour, two-driver event, will see the finest closed-cockpit cars go head-to-head, with Button and Buncombe competing in their 1963 AC Cobra. Originally a factory-prepared racer for Shelby American, the car is now prepped and run by DK Engineering. The race at 2.30pm will form part of ITV1’s live broadcast of the Goodwood Revival on Sunday 19 September.
Details of the confirmed Revival Race Schedule are available here, with further driver details due to be announced in the coming weeks.
Saturday tickets for the Revival are sold out, however Friday and Sunday tickets are still available and can be purchased via goodwood.com
