The National Motor Museum are celebrating the life of Murray Walker OBE with a tribute evening on Saturday 14th August.

Many fans, friends and colleagues will share stories and insights about the legendary commentator and there will also be iconic two and four-wheeled racing cars and bikes on display.

Known and loved as ‘the voice of Formula 1’ by many, Murray’s enthusiasm, knowledge and personality made him one of motorsport’s best-known figures, in an astonishing career that spanned seven decades. Whatever the event, from Grand Prix to international motorcycle racing, Murray’s distinctive voice never failed to capture the excitement of the race.

Go! Go! Go! Celebrating the life of Murray Walker OBE, presented by The GT Organisation in association with PlateShield and the Historic Sports Car Cub, the event will be hosted by former Grand Prix driver, Tiff Needell.

There will be the opportunity for guests to admire a selection of racing machines representing Murray’s career in the Wheelspinners Paddocks and then watch impressive demonstration drives, before joining a sparkling Racing Revellers Reception, followed by a three-course dinner.

Some of Murray’s friends and colleagues will take centre stage to share some of their fond memories that made his character so unique and special to them in Murray’s Moments. Guests will be invited to share their memories and put questions to the distinguished panel, and later, bidding will commence on items of Murray Walker memorabilia, as they go under the hammer in the evening’s exclusive auction.
